New
York City native Larry Slade is a savvy and experienced entrepreneur
and licensed attorney with over 20 years experience in sales and
sales management, team and project management, conflict resolution,
civil and criminal litigation, government relations, trial advocacy
and client relations. A superior record of academic and professional
achievement distinguishes his career.
Larry attended Pace University School of Law in White Plains, New
York, earning his diploma in 1994. His many honors at law school
include the serving as Acquisitions Editor for the Pace Law Review,
recipient of the prestigious American Jurisprudence Award for Trial
Advocacy, “Best Oral Argument” in the Pace Advanced Moot
Court Competition, the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Contribution
to the Good of the Law School, and four years as an elected member
of the Student Bar Association. As a participant in the school’s
rigorous Prosecution of Domestic Violence Clinical Program, administered
in association with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office,
Larry became the first student in Pace University’s history
to successfully convict the defendant in a domestic violence jury
trial.
Building upon this success, Larry launched his law career as
an Assistant State Attorney with the Dade County State Attorney’s Office
in Miami.
In just over two years he earned an impressive trial win
record of 90%, prosecuting over 175 bench and 50 jury trials to a
guilty verdict, while at the same time earning recognition for his
ethical approach to criminal prosecution in the Misdemeanor, Juvenile
and Felony Courts.
As a businessman, Larry has demonstrated the same resourcefulness
and determination to succeed. In his capacity as an Associate Consultant
at DEI Management Group in New York City from 1987-88, he organized
sales training and business development seminars for Fortune 500
companies. In 1988, as Director of Marketing at New York’s
Health & Injury Institute, he forged strategic relationships
designed to generate patients and develop new revenue streams. His
efforts laid the groundwork for the sale of the company for almost
$9 million. From 1989-94, Larry served as the Director of Business
Development at The Center for Sports & Osteopathic Medicine in
Manhattan. While attending law school at night, he aggressively built
the company’s revenue streams by developing referral relationships
with many of the city’s major health and fitness clubs, as
well as its corporate wellness centers.
In 1996 Larry was recruited by 3 Point Digital, a Los Angeles-based
reseller and integrator of high-end computer systems used to edit
feature films and television shows. Providing the startup company
with general counsel and serving as its Vice President of Sales
and Marketing, Larry helped grow the firm to over 60 employees
and over $50 million in annual revenues.
He founded his own company, Echo Post, in 1998.
Larry quickly grew Echo Post from a 1,500-square-foot post-production
facility to an 11,000-square-foot multimedia operation employing
15 people. Echo Post continues to provide digital technology services
to the film and television industry in Hollywood.
Larry successfully sat for the California Bar Exam in 1999 and
returned to the practice of law in 2001. He soon joined the Law
Offices of Michael S. Overing in Los Angeles as a Litigator. Responsible
for all aspects of civil litigation and business transactions for
clients in commercial and entertainment industry enterprises, he
successfully tried a wide array of cases involving contracts, labor
and employee relations, real estate, trusts and general business
disputes. He launched Slade & Associates in 2004.
